Is Balance possible? It is hard to do sometimes, but it can be done and it is worth trying.

Balance, is it even possible?

Sharing is caring!

Balance, is it even possible? I believe it is. I’ve been told it is impossible. I’ve also been told not to try and form my message around this topic because it is impossible and others won’t believe it to be achievable. I tried to do this but something inside me needed to figure out how to find the words of what I know is possible.

When I think about why people believe balance is impossible I am reminded of my article about being a supermom. We try to do it all and be there for everything but can’t. We try to do something for ourselves and feel guilty or drained because we are trying to do it all. What if we defined balance differently within that brain of ours?

What if balance wasn’t about doing everything we felt we needed to do with an equal measure of time or space,

but what helped us stand on the foundation of trust and love we’ve built within our life?

Balance Redefined

Balance isn’t about equal time between areas of your life. It is about finding the sweet spot of activities within different pillars that keep you upright and able to withstand ground shaking moments. I like to think of these natural healthy habits as the foundational forces, the design my life is based upon. Usually you find three pillars of your life where healthy habits are inherent so you can creatively work in the other three pillars of your Life Goals. When life feels shaky this is when a review of the foundational balance pillars need a check for neglect of the goal, or over growth beyond the goal. Once this is checked you may find a change is needed so balance can happen once again.

The six pillars of life are relationships, career, health, quality of life, personal growth, and your spiritual journey. Your relationships within your life may seem obvious, but did you include yourself? Career could be a paying job, but what if it was defined as the area of your life where your passion for creating was aligned with? What if it didn’t need to be defined by how you were getting paid? Health is more than your physical health, but it includes your mental wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual wellbeing. The Quality of Life you experience relates to how you desire life to feel like, your expectations, and the financial standards that matter to you. Personal Growth includes your growth opportunities, where you are exploring and learning to stretch yourself towards the goals that matter to you. Your Spiritual Journey is your connection to yourself, your soul, and how you feel guided along the journey you are on.

The Science Revealed in Simplicity

When exploring this topic I was shown a few ideas to see what fit for what I believed to be possible. The first was a teeter-totter. I explored how that would work with having three pillars on one side and the others opposite to try and balance the time and space that typically is defined within the idea of creating balance. This didn’t fit what I knew would be possible because I’ve tried this method and it’s difficult to find any semblance of balance this way.

The time commitments and feeling you’re giving too much of yourself consumes who you are, ultimately losing a connection to your life that should matter…how much you love yourself and the life you are creating.

As I explored once more I was shown a high rise building in the wind. I was show how the design may allow movement but when the foundations are unstable the building becomes out of balance. The foundations the building is designed contains the love and trust you’ve intentionally chosen to include in habits and patterns that became your healthy routines. These are generally within three pillars of your life. How they look and what pillars they are included within is by your design for your life. Just know they may change and not be within the foundation as you grow, learn and how life changes and flows around you.

The building that flexes is a representation of you and how you are choosing to stand upon those foundations, working towards life goals that matter to you, in a creative and passionate way. These will allow you to flex your time and space, you have within your daily life so you feel fulfilled and know abundance. They allow to say no to things that don’t fit the priorities of what matters more, without guilt. These pillars allow you to know who you are because you are focusing on the moments you are choosing to experience in abundant ways. Finally, they make it easier to feel the shift of a shaky foundation because your flow with life will feel out of balance.

Is there a wind storm making life difficult? It can happen and it does. When there are events that build or conflict life becomes or can become overwhelming. As a mom, for me, this typically was during a seasonal transition for my children’s sports. The commitment as one was in the final stages of tournaments or get togethers while others were trying to start up stretched the family thin. Add in birthday parties and other family commitments, life can be challenging. This is only one aspect of life but can include a few pillars depending upon your life goals. How you allow the flow around you to help you flex what’s important while standing upon the foundations of healthy habits will help you get through those tough moments. If not then the foundation is shaky. A quick review can help you adjust or remind yourself where a gap in what you used to do or what you could do to help find balance once again.

Balance, is it even possible?

It is, but just like how you feel emotionally there are shadow moments; moments where you are frustrated, worried, uncertain, or overextended. What can you do to help build your foundation of love and trust within your life? What healthy habits are possible to help you know that when life is busy or complicated you won’t be depleted, drained, or cutting yourself off from knowing who you really are?

These healthy habits might be manifesting a morning message of encouragement or directional support from your soul or a Divine Guide. It might be getting into a routine to work out on your lunch break or arrange for a later pickup from daycare because your physical health matters also. For me the incentive was being able to hike a mountain trail while keeping up with the kids, or being able to cuddle with a possible future grandchild. It might be knowing the quality of life you have and the abundance you see within it, like noticing the twinkle in an eye or valuing the safe space you’ve created for your child to vent frustrating moments when they walk through the door. How you define the life goals and healthy habits that you want within your life will help you find that balance. Knowing how to give yourself the grace and compassion while taking these steps is the key to building that love and trust within the foundation you are building within your life.

There is no right or wrong way to doing this, it is trying and desiring to live within a heart-centered space; a space where you want to know abundance, feel the abundance in your life and share that love and blessing with others. When you allow yourself to step into this space with an intention to find balance, you will create balance in ways you maybe didn’t realize you could. Look within, journal, explore your habits and patterns and the commitments you’ve made within your life. What fits, what works, and what may need an adjustment?
