Dress for Comfort and Confidence | 30 Days of Hygge Challenge

Sharing is caring!

It’s day 24 of my 30 days of Hygge challenge and today was about dressing comfortably. Hygge expert, Britta Olsson describes Hygge clothing as being comfortable. I firmly believe that you can dress for comfort and confidence.

Whether you are in the office, at home, or out on the town life is much more enjoyable when you are comfortable and feel great about how you look. When this magic happens your confidence soars.

However, if you look great but you aren’t comfortable your confidence can be limited as the day goes on. You’ll fidget as you are adjusting that outfit or you will be tending to sore feet from poor shoe choices that day. When living a Hygge lifestyle you are looking for both comfort and practical choices for the weather, according to Britta Olsson.

Dress for Comfort and Confidence

I used to hate shopping. HATE IT WITH A PASSION!

Yep! I saw it as a necessity only. I’d go into a store, get what I needed, and got out as fast as possible.

Heaven forbid if I had to try stuff on because I was fat and nothing ever fit me right.

I was wrong. So so very wrong.

This is the truth you need to believe about shopping:

  1. Everyone’s body type is different, it’s not just your weight.
  2. Patterns look different on everyone, depending on body type and height.
  3. Skin tone changes the look of clothes as well.
  4. The material, style, and manufacturer will change how the sizes fit a person. Don’t get bent over the size shown on the tag.
  5. You are beautiful, inside and out, and deserve to be comfortable and feel confident in that outfit.

Today, I take my time. I look for clothes and shoes that work for both my personality and lifestyle. I have clothes for work and others for my at-home Hygge days. Basically, I dress for comfort and confidence.

I have my favorite stores that I go to find the best outfits for my lifestyle. I’ve learned not to get worked up over the size on the tag. In one store, I wear anything from a Small to an XL and sometimes the XL doesn’t fit. It truly depends on the style, material, and manufacturer of the item.

I’m always on my feet for work, so footwear has become a constant battle. However, there is one company that I completely trust when it comes to comfortable footwear. After some research, I was thrilled to learn that they have expanded there running shoe product line to business casual footwear and slippers.  Sweet!

If you haven’t checked out Skechers’ footwear you are missing out. They are seriously the bomb when it comes to making your feet uber happy. I only buy their runners and look forward to checking out their other footwear lines very soon. Maybe my feet won’t hurt as much after a long day at work.

The bottom line is you can dress for comfort and confidence with patience and some help from the experts. Ask the staff in the store for help. They are there to help you and you will honestly make their day if they are able to help you find those one or two items that you absolutely love. Let’s make it a mission to always dress with comfort and confidence because anything else just makes the day feel longer than necessary. Happy shopping!
