Saying Grace with Purpose

Sharing is caring!

The journey to helping nurture the health and wellbeing for life on Earth starts with saying grace with purpose. This is a forgotten tradition from 17th century. This method of what I reached for helped me say grace with purpose when the another method, I knew from childhood, didn’t feel fulfilling.

“Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully for what has straw to do with grain?” declares the Lord. “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:20

What I was seeking was a grace that didn’t have me licking up straw for a comfortable bed but one that nourished in ways that nourished my soul and our purpose here on Earth. The Lord broke the foundation of what was known to me; what my spirit was resisting in following and I chose to resist what was a surface natural response, to honor the rock that was revealed from long ago but forgotten. The surface natural response is one that is a societal flow within life, one that grew but there may be a poverty within it that has ancient traditions forgotten.

Saying grace with purpose began being lost within a tradition long before the 17th century, but the last prayer in this way was in the early 1700’s. The poverty within society is a sheet that covers burdens that many are trying to get out from underneath. It is a sheet that isn’t comfortable for the homeless, small farmer, small business, layoffs, small churches, the rich, the poor, government, medical industry, and more, much more.

There is a blessing for being part of creation on Earth, and it is being part of a journey up a mountain. One that allows us to see things from a higher perspective. Everyone is on a journey and the location upon the mountain may not be the same as yours, it may not even be the same mountain. However, where  ever you are within your journey, you can trust the Lord will help you in various ways along the way. The goal is to walk this with less burdens dragging behind you. Saying grace with purpose is one of those ways to accomplish this.

On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. Isaiah 25:7-8

The Mountain of What Is

The mountain of what is, is not the mountain we walk upon to discover and appreciate life on Earth and creation in general. The mountain can be considered pallets of rocks that we drag up our own mountain, ones we find ourselves stopping and looking for ways to lessen the load within life; to lesson the struggle in many different ways. These are the rocks that tend to devalue our intuition or make it difficult to walk forward with confidence.

While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Daniel 2:34

The rocks, metaphorically, are displaced from the mountain by societal expectations, beliefs, and pulls towards a perceived abundance that is misunderstood from a lack of trust.

The journey through time, concerning the lost traditions of saying grace with purpose relates to a different seasons of life within struggle that masked the eyes of perspective for many. The struggle may have been a sun shower from a higher perspective, but felt like a flash thunderstorm, due to resistance on a path the person wanted but maybe didn’t feel supported by those around them. When you think about different whether patterns of life, and the example above in relation to seasons of life. When one is standing within a sun shower they can see potentially blocks ahead of them or fields before them. However, when it is a flash thunderstorm the perspective they can see is difficult to see beyond the storm.

In those moments what’s misunderstood is the actions of not wanting to experience the higher perspective out of fear; pushing away the lightning moment for their life. They get to receive instead the anger and frustration of their spirit within them having to carry burdens that didn’t need to be. This is the thunder within those moments and the emotional pain that distances a person from could be a more abundant life in different ways than expected. With every one of these, life changed; society changed and the health and well being of humanity and creation changed. Traditions were turned away from, and memories of what was were lost.

Choices made, may have seemed like life became easier to live by, but did it? This may be difficult to conceive a realization of how connected events, in countries you’ve never been to, may change the flow of energy within creation that may impact weather and how an individual may react to their day. Society is now more aware of damages to Earth, and many are on the path to trying to find new ways of living. The growth and movement many have been on is the path to appreciating a purpose many don’t realize. This purpose is, is in part, why I chose to say grace with purpose in the way I am going to talk about down below.

Saying Grace with Purpose

I grew up with little influence for grace being said at every meal. It was more during special occasions than an every day occurrence. I remember talking to my Dad about saying grace one day, and he chuckled and said ‘Don’t do what I did, or you’ll get in trouble, but then you’ll never be asked to do it again.’ He explained that his grace during an extended family dinner, was this:

Thanks for the bread, the meat. Good God, let’s eat.

I believe based upon what I remember from this conversation, my Grandmother was not pleased and being that he had been given the honor because he was the oldest child, she was taken aback from his desire to eat and not give thanks in a more thoughtful way. These are the same Grandparents that gave of themselves to neighbors and the community when in need, just as those around them gave to them.

Some may think of this story as a definition of my heathen ways, you may be on the path to knowingness about this part of me. The truth of this meaningful heathen way of being is that when I chose to accept the challenge of learning to say grace within a healthy habit, I needed to honor my Grandmother and my Dad by seeking a more meaningful way of being within those moments. Given that the solution for me was to find the traditions from a former life of mine and to follow it, was essentially a pioneer journey I chose for myself and to help my family.

Why this now?

My journey is one where I get to learn by seeking a higher perspective about whatever is needed; like many. I call this shattering masks that hide something I didn’t know or maybe did but had avoided for far too long. Not long ago, as part of the next leg of my journey, I kept feeling the spiritual push to go back to church. In one of these moments,  Jesus asked me to help raise the Christ consciousness level on Earth, knowing I had already begun many years prior. When I accepted this message of love to help potentially many, I felt the spiritual push even more to go back to church. This began when I asked the Lord to help me walk back into a church. The journey to feel comfortable getting there is one I talk about, where the Lord began helping me shatter a mask regarding tithing.

The next spiritual push was around saying grace. These never feel good. The spiritual pushes are ones that make you feel like you are cornered in life. It wasn’t Guidance that did this, but those that felt I wasn’t worthy of being whom I am. They needed me to be different, and in desperation pushed and some still do based upon their own beliefs and expectations.

Saying grace with purpose was my resistance to just saying something that came to mind. I wasn’t going to just say anything just to stop the abuse felt for not saying something, so I dug into my spiritual self and found a solution. In a moment of manifestation for a solution, these words came to mind that fit a purpose filled with fulfillment and opportunity to help nurture abundance within industry.

Dear Lord, thank you for this meal we are about to partake and the time we have together,

from creation and guidance through all the nurturing abundance that became,

so that we may receive the nourishment and abundance for what may become, knowingly and unknowingly.

Thank you for your support and your undying love, Amen

The Analysis

For me, I needed my grace and prayers to be more than just about me. I needed to thank the Lord for all that became so I could enjoy what may become. Thanking the Lord for creation, is about thanking Him for whatever was possible within His creation: Earth, plants, animals, humans and the guidance that helps nurture such. The nurturing abundance is envisioned as a blessing for all of that creation and the development of products and services that were used and created to help make those moments possible.

This to me includes plates, cutlery, appliance, vehicles, stores, trucking, manufacturing, farming, and all the people that were part of every moment that became. The simple act of being thankful within this grace with purpose for a vegetable soup, may allow more than one carrot farmer an act of love from the Lord for their work in helping me receive nourishment and abundance. If one floor worker receives their act of love from the Lord, and it helps them enjoy their job and life, home and work or otherwise just a little bit more, this is a positive ripple of love that warms my heart.

My vision for this is, if I and my family can do this for our meals, or for our day at the beginning and end of such and help maybe one family know more happiness unknowingly, then we’ve done what we can to help change a part of the world. The more people can choose to do this, change happens for the better. My belief is extended beyond this though. I believe that the Lord is also blessing the animals, and plants, and Earth elements with every prayer and grace whereby we are allowing ourselves to let Him nurture abundance through these words.

My husband began asking us to say grace in a restaurant prior to receiving the food, so that we could bless those preparing the food in advance.

Receiving is More than You Think

The intention for the third line above within my grace moment, is to allow the Lord to nurture abundance and nourishment however He pleases, knowing and unknowingly to me. This may include moments where I get to know that there are sugars within a mushroom, or maybe knowing that my meal may be helping adjust a hormone to a healthier state. It might mean that I get to know something more in beautiful exciting moments within another day; moments of knowledge that drop in about creation and my health or something else in relation to a life goal of mine. I pray this way also so my family may receive blessings in much the same way for their life goals.

There is much that we don’t know that could know if we are open to seeing or knowing how much we can appreciate and show that appreciation for creation. For example, I added mushrooms to my homemade soup and was guided not to add the sugar found within the recipe because of the natural sugars found within the mushrooms and baby potatoes.

The unknowingly is the above in part, as the gifts of knowledge are gathered by the Lord to send out in various ways through Guidance in Divine Timing. They also include acts of love from the Lord as my body and my family’s receive nourishment in ways that we don’t know and for much of this we don’t necessarily need to. We don’t need to know which nutrient within French Fries helps a specific part of an organ in healing and functionality.

Blessing in thanks are being thankful of abundance and not critical or judgmental. If we are happy and are learning about life, within life that is abundance.

Extending the Grace

Saying grace with purpose then grew to include a previous goal of mine whereby I wanted to be thankful for what was within my day. I use the same words as above for both the beginning and end prayers for my day. The idea is to allow the Lord to bless me and many others for everything my family may enjoy, use, and receive in any way throughout our day. This may include a vehicle manufacturer or part for there of, clothing, stores, food, drink, school, work, etc. The endless blessings for what became to receive nourishment of the spirt and bodies (mind, emotion, and physical) is abundance within life.

When we take the time to thank the Lord for His creation and the guidance to allow for this nurturing abundance that blessed every part of our life, we are working within creation to be thankful for every moment that became, so we could step into what moment may become that He is nurturing for us also. Considering creation and being thankful for what was grown, and cared for can also be extended to honor how it was harvested, while being within grace, understanding and compassion for the sacrifice those beings in plant and animal gave for our nourishment.

A simple ask of the Lord to bless the ingredients allows the Lord to know and love the spirits of those beings to know they are appreciated and loved. The seeds of nature and creation are designed in love and seek love naturally. Honoring in gratitude and thankfulness, while blessing the spirit in such a way is one we can do from our home or while out for dinner, with simple words asking the Lord to bless the ingredients with love so more love is infused within our meal.

What if when more of us allow ourselves to do this simple task such as above, we find weather patterns calmer, battles around the world lessened, and industry trends going upward? Is this a “pie in the sky” way of thinking? I don’t think so.

Why? Stormy weather on the outside, chaos on streets, and within the homes, etc. reflect from within the stormy weathers within each of us around the world. When we can appreciate and know happiness and actively thank the Lord for His creation in a sunrise and sunset, as well as everything that became in between we are appreciating the lessons and the journey that was.

Not being able to do this, and express these simple words, is like choosing to grab that rock from a mountain and drop it on your feet; devaluing the journey and life you are creating for yourself. I say this because the design intention for your feet represent, in part, being able to help you have and know balance within the values you hold in life, and the value you hold within you, as you walk through life.

*please note that if you are living life where there is a body part that has experienced a birth challenge or surgical experience the creation intention for such body part is still functioning as designed to help you through life.

What if doing this helps you take that rock and smash a mask that hid poverty within a thankfulness you thought you had, but didn’t know how to do things differently, because traditions from long ago were forgotten?
